Islam and the Law of Attraction

Introduction

Although the principles of the Law of Attraction have in recent years become widely popularized by the work of Rhonda Byrne in The Secret, relatively few have as of yet commented on the relationship between Islam and the Law of Attraction.

Yet the role of the Law of Attraction in Islam is of paramount importance, and properly understanding the subject is now a vital step in one’s personal growth and spiritual evolution.

Islam and the Law of Attraction

What is the Law of Attraction?

The Law of Attraction simply states that an individual will attract to him or herself that which is in harmony and in resonance with his or her dominant vibrational state.

In other words, if you are happy, in joy and in gratitude, you will naturally attract to yourself positive events and circumstances that are in vibrational harmony with your positive pscyho-spiritual state.

Conversely, if you are angry, frustrated, stressed and unhappy, you will likewise attract to yourself negative events and circumstances that are correspondingly vibrationally synchronous with a negative energetic state.

Hence, it is of paramount importance for an individual, especially for a Muslim who is seeking to understand Islam and the Law of Attraction for the purpose of spiritual development and personal success, to continually manage his or her state of be-ing.

Islam and the Law of Attraction

Islam is a path of personal growth and spiritual development, ultimately culminating in awakening to the Eternal and Absolute Divine Presence of God.

Based upon the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, this path of personal development is known as at-tariqah, and is also referred to in Arabic as tazkiyyat an-nafs, or “Purification of the Self,” and in English as Sufism.

The Prophet ﷺ taught that the means to such purification is a way and a path known as al-Islam, or the one true religion of “surrender,” and that through spiritual surrender, a human being will ultimately become purified of the true source of negativity, fear and anger: the ego-mind.

To give up the egoic will, all you have to do is not complain about what is. Be aligned with the Isness — people, situations, whatever — this is already as it is. It’s the inevitability of Is. Become friendly with what Is, and you become intelligent for the first time…

With the simple act of surrender to the inevitability of the present moment, another energy comes. You could call that Universal Will, you could call that Intelligence, you could call that the creative solution to whatever the so-called “problem” is. You could call that Power coming in, that is greater than the limited power of your mind…

You and the Universe become one, and as such It creates through you as this form. That’s the beauty of it. When the Unmanifested flows into this world, It assumes form… When the simple act of surrender opens your mind, it can then be used as an instrument. Then, a thought may come in that is original and fresh and new. That is the birth of form. The birth of thought creates the birth of form. The Universe uses you as a vehicle or a channel through which to create. You are one. It can use your mind, and become thought, words, physical things. That’s the way in which the mind can actually be a helpful tool — alignment with the greater Intelligence, the One Consciousness.

It all starts with the present moment, and your relationship with the present moment. Friend or enemy? Are you allowing it, or are you fighting it, resisting it? That’s the end of ego — because the ego needs resistance. The ego survives through complaining, it survives through denying, or wanting something else.

— Eckhart Tolle

Once thus purified, a human being realizes the intrinsic buoyancy, goodness and grace of life, and his or her attitude naturally becomes one of health and happiness. Based upon the principles of Islam and the Law of Attraction, such an individual effortlessly and automatically attracts the bounty and providence of the Universe.

God has stated, “My servant draws not near unto Me with nothing more loved by Me than the spiritual practices I have enjoined upon him, and as My servant continues to draw near unto Me with superogatory spiritual practices, I shall love him.

When I love him, I become the hearing with which he hears, the seeing with which he sees, the hand with which he strikes and the foot with which he walks. Were he to ask something of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant it.”

— Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Hadith Qudsi [Bukhari]

Such individuals are often referred to as Awliya, or the “Friends of God,” implying that they are friendly with what is. In other words, awliya are they who are in a state of surrender with Divine Will as it manifests in each and every moment. Consequently, they have transcended the source of suffering and are no longer subject to the fear and grief that inevitably constitute ego and mind-based consciousness.

Behold! Verily, upon the Friends of God there is no fear, nor do they grieve, they who believe and who are God-Conscious and Present. For them there are glad tidings in both this life and the Hereafter.

— Surah Yunus [Holy Quran, 10:62-64]

Islam and the Law of Attraction: The Power of Your Paradigm

God has said, “I am to My servants as they expect Me to be.”

— Prophet Muhammad ﷺ [Hadith Qudsi]

At the heart and soul of the Islamic spiritual path is the principle of personal responsibility. We are taught throughout the Holy Qur’an that each soul will face what it hath sent forth, meaning that each soul will experience the results and consequences of its actions. Hence it is of utmost important that we take personal responsibility for our thoughts and our emotions, for these serve as the foundation for the actions that arise from us.

Islam first and foremost seeks to establish a proper paradigm with which to view the world and to interact with creation. The basis and foundation of this paradigm is the eternal testament of truth, “There is no god but God,” and all that naturally corresponds to this fundamental statement.

We are clearly and definitively taught that God is Good, Merciful, Compassionate, Loving, Forgiving, Supportive, Giving, Generous and of Infinite Bounty. Thus, Islam and the Law of Attraction teach that a believer must engage the world with faith and with confidence, expecting success, abundance and prosperity in accordance and in alignment with Divine Nature and Divine Will.

When we approach life and living from this place of positive expectation, as is right and indicative of true faith and belief, not only are we naturally happier, more confident, joyous and grateful, but we also naturally attract to ourselves circumstances that correspond with this paradigm based in positive belief.

However, when we approach life with an attitude limited and constrained by fear, doubt and disbelief, it is no surprise that our lives become more difficult, dominated by negative events and circumstances. When operating from a negative paradigm, it is not surprising that the harder we struggle, the faster we sink.

Yet there is a way out of this downward spiral, and as counterintuitive as it may seem, it requires us not forcing solutions, but rather effecting internal change, and thus taking control of our external circumstances by first taking control of our internal psycho-spiritual state. We create change first and foremost correcting our selves and paradigm.

You cannot solve a problem with the same level of consciousness that created it.

— Einstein

Thus, Allah Almighty, the Creator affirms in the Holy Qur’an, “I do not change the circumstances of a people until they first change what is within themselves,” [13:11].

Islam and the Law of Attraction: How Do You Feel?

With regards to Islam and the Law of Attraction, perhaps the most important question we can ask ourselves is, “How do I feel?

How we feel is a direct result of what we are thinking. What we think is a direct result of what we believe. And what we believe is a direct result of our paradigm, or the programmed worldview we operate from. This ultimately comes down to but the question, “Do you believe?

If we believe, then all is good, for God is not absent and will carry us ultimately beyond difficulty and struggle. Yet if we do not truly believe, then we fall into hopelessness and despair, despondency and grief, and we gradually sink in sorrow.

It is not surprising then that when operating from a place of faithlessness, we not only attract negative events and circumstances, but we also manifest the experience of realities which are in essence based in the absence of the Benevolent Presence of God, and thus devoid of divine love, mercy, grace and goodness.

Yet this is the burden of the power of choice and free will, a divine grant that was refused by all of creation save mankind, who in the words of the Holy Qur’an are “oppressive and ignorant,” [33:72].

Thus, particularly in challenging situations and circumstances, it is absolutely imperative to maintain a positive psycho-spiritual state rooted in the foundation of faith and belief, i.e. to preserve a proper and positive perspective, for nothing will cause us to sink and fail faster than a negative mindset and attitude. Yet by maintaining a positive and faith-based state of being, we can rise from and transcend hardships and difficulties.

Islam and the Law of Attraction: Your Attitude = Your Altitude

Your attitude equals your “altitude,” or how high you can fly above the trials and tribulations of the world, and to what degree you can overcome the gravity of the ego-self. With a truly positive attitude and corresponding actions based in belief, you will ultimately find yourself in Paradise.

Furthermore, a negative attitude originating from a problematic paradigm will lead to force and forced solutions, which never lead to a positive or healthy result.

The question is one of independence versus dependence, and of spirit versus dunya, the world. Are you overwhelmed by the world, or are you able to transcend the limited and finite temporal illusory reality of dunya? Is what is inside you, your divine eternal soul, greater than dunya, or are you in a state of subservience to the world?

Islam and the Law of Attraction: The Power of Belief

What you seek is seeking you.

— Rumi (qs)

With regards to Islam and the Law of Attraction, the matter comes down to a fundamental question of faith, or belief in Allah, for belief in God is belief in goodness, and this then precludes the possibility of fear, depression and despondency.

This is critical, for it is our faith and our belief, our choice, that allows the divine power and light of God to reach us. Otherwise, when out of alignment with truth, we literally bar the flow of divine providence psychically and so are left with but a diminished flow of the blessings and divine support of God that is seeking to reach us.

The Holy Qur’an continually affirms the importance of true faith in the life of the believer, and that this core confidence in the Divine keeps a human being in alignment with grace, thus enabling the flow of peace and prosperity to the individual and to the community.

Those who believe and do deeds of righteousness, and who establish regular prayers and regular charity, they will have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

— Surah al-Baqarah [Holy Qur’an, 2:277]

3 Steps to Mastering the Law of Attraction

The following three steps are critical in mastering the Law of Attraction in Islam and in consciously cultivating a life of choice in alignment with truth. Thus we attract and create a life experience based in divine purpose, peace and prosperity.

1. Purify the Self

Islam is primarily a path of self-purification, and it is incumbent upon every individual Muslim to learn to purify his or her self of the negative qualities of ego-based consciousness.

We must remember that there are two dimensions to al-Islam:

  1. The Outer
  2. The Inner

Often, religious individuals tends to focus primarily on the outer, yet the very purpose of the external is but to protect and to provide expression to the internal. Without spirituality, religion is as a lifeless body, devoid of its true purpose, and often becomes the very antithesis of its very goal and purpose.

In order to master Islam and the Law of Attraction, it is imperative to engage in the path and practice of tazkiyyat an-nafs, or “purification of the self.”

If one engages in external Islamic practice (fiqh), yet fails to honor internal Islamic practice (tasawwuf), he or she will become a hypocrite. And if one engages in the inner but neglects the outer, he or she will become a sinner. Only by carrying both the inner and outer dimensions of Islam can one reach the goal, al-Haq, the Truth.

— Imam Malik (ra)

2. Be Happy

When one believes truly and lives with faith and thus with confidence, he or she out of natural alignment with Divine Will lives in a state of buoyancy, joy, light, love and gratitude.

In mastering Islam and the Law of Attraction, it is important to remember that our feelings are indications of our thoughts, which are the results of our beliefs and our paradigms.

By being mindful of your feelings, and by developing emotional awareness and learning to uncover the deeper self that motivates and governs your choices and life experience, you can retake control of your psycho-spiritual state, and thus you exert a positive and harmonious influence upon the external physical world and your life experience, which are but the result and reflection of your inner world.

Thus, the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ equated but one hour of contemplation, meditation and reflection as more valuable than seventy years of ritual worship.

“One hour of contemplation is more valuable than seventy years of worship.”

— Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Ask yourself often, “How do I feel?” If you feel good, at peace and in harmony with the Universe, then know that you are in alignment with Divine Will, and with goodness and grace. Yet if you feel afraid, stressed, unhappy, depressed or despondent, then know that you have slipped out of alignment with your true self and with Truth.

If you feel anything other than excellent, I recommended the following as a simple practice to realign and reorient yourself with Truth:

Wudu

Make fresh ablutions. Water is both blessed and a source of light, and can literally wash away the burdens of the world when ablutions are performed mindfully and with intent.

Salah

Practice two cycles of prayer. By doing so, again with mindfulness, presence and intent, you literally align yourself with the Presence of the Divine and connect with the Source of Healing, Peace, Light and Love.

Istighfar

Seek forgiveness and turn towards God by simply reciting “astaghfirullah.” Repeat as many times as you like, and feel the mercy and light of God encompassing and healing you.

Smile

Smile both inwardly and outwardly. This is a prophetic practice, a sunnah, and can literally shift your mindset. By managing your physiology, you manage your psychology.

Thank

Be consciously grateful for at least five things. By focusing on gratitude, your mind becomes aware of and tuned to the countless blessings that are continually being bestowed upon you and creation.

Pray and Practice Daily

The Five Daily Prayers of Islam are an excellent opportunity to practice these consistently, and thus to stay aligned with Goodness and with Truth, naturally living in harmony with Islam and the Law of Attraction.

3. Be Present

The greatest impediment to joy, light and love is the ego-mind, the self that is based in separation. In order to survive, the ego requires past and future, as well as conflict and resistance, and cannot exist in the purity, perfection and peace of the present moment.

It is the ego that as a result of its requirement for separation necessitates living in fear, anxiety and worry in order to survive, and it is thus the obstacle to naturally attracting positive and prosperous circumstances and results into our lives.

The key to transcending the ego-mind and dissolving its incessant chatter based in other than truth and peace is to begin learning to live in the present moment.

Learn how to meditate. Meditation is an invaluable tool and practice in learning to live in the present moment, to transcend the self, and to naturally employ the Law of Attraction towards creating a life based in divine providence and prosperity.

Islam and the Law of Attraction: Your World is in Your Hands

The key to mastering Islam and the Law of Attraction is in mastering your self. By learning to still and silence the ego-mind, which tends towards negative thoughts and feelings, you open yourself to the natural abundance and prosperity that flows from the Divine Presence of God.

As human beings, we have been created with divine honor as representatives of the Almighty, and when in alignment with Divine Will, we naturally attract to ourselves positive and supportive circumstances.

By consciously and intentionally learning to master your psycho-spiritual state, you increasingly come into the very state of al-Islam, an energetic reality and state of harmony and oneness with all that is.

Thus, you exercise your free will in choosing your state and rising above the conditioned and predisposed nature of the negative ego-mind. The reward for such transcendence ultimately is nothing less than Paradise.

  1. Salaam and jazaakAllah khair for this article. I’ve been an LOA girl since watching The Secret back in 2010 and in fact I was going to write an eBook on the very topic you discussed. Alhamdulilah someone (you) finally wrote about it from the Islamic perspective – it’s much needed! 🙂

    1. Masha’llah, sister Nadia, I look forward to seeing your work and leadership develop. Our ummah is in dire need of forward thinkers embracing new knowledge in the spirit of the early believers who helped spread the light of Islam throughout the world, and left a cultural legacy the likes of which the world had never before seen. Blessed regards.

      1. Salaam Ishsan

I shukr Allah for you. This article is truly an inspiration alghamdulilaah. Made possible through the infinite grace and mercy of Allah.
You have taken something which in our day to day seemd a mammoth task and you simplified it and broke it down to its most basic form. How can we possibly go wrong if we surrender to the Almighty as all stems from Him. And no one knows what’s best for us other than Allah.

Shukr and continue to be lead to enlighten us alghamdulilaah.

        1. Thank you, dear Farieda, may Allah Almighty bless and guide us all to the best of paths on our return to His Eternal Divine Presence. To your success in this life and the next.

      2. Assalam alaikum thanks a lot for this post that is for huge help. do you think people can influence the material life of their brothers?

    2. I’ve read somewhere that LOA is haram but I was so happy after ages as if I wanted to live but today I searched and searched and finally came to know that it’s haram. Idk what to do. After 1,2 weeks I selfharmed again, my mind was bursting, I hate myself AGAIN!
also I saw somewhere infact at many videos that it is haram as Allah says *seek everything from me, and as a Muslim we must ask everythingg from Him, He is our creator* but LOA says that we should already believe that something is ours and have immense believe
I’m so confused. It’s like on one hand ik that it’s haram but still I want it to be halal but how can it be halal when LOA tells us that WE CAN HAVE ANYTHING IN THIS WORLD, ANYTHING but on the other hand, Allah says that a leaf can’t even move without His will also there are 3 steps to manifest something according to LOA, scripting, visualization and believing as if something is already yours
So i order to have something example if I don’t like my face structure so I’ll use LOA as *I have V- shaped face structure* and I’ll repeat it again and again. But here comes the problem. If I’ll keep in mind that I’m asking from Allah and it’s dua, then my mind would be in 2 ways that maybe Allah will do because it’s good for me or maybe HE won’t do. I wouldn’t be able to imagine it as it’s already mine as it is told to do in LOA. Please I’m sorry if I’m disturbing you but please reply. I’ve read many articles about islam and LOA, and it says that LOA is just like a dua. And dua is made for unseen means but in LOA it says that by practicing LOA *WE CAN HAVE ANYTHING* that means, nothing is unseen according to LOA. So what should we do? While scripting, manifesting, I should keep in mind that I can achieve anything or what? Im so confused. Because if we see this from Islamic point of view, it’s Allah who can do anything, anything but in LOA, it’s our mind which can do anything. And how can I manifest as *I have this face , I am becoming beautiful or I am getting back to the person I loved* when I guess even plastic surgery is haram because maybe (i don’t clearly know about that) changing your appearance is haram in Islam.
Moreover when I’ll accept that my mind is so powerful that I can attract anything, and I’ll have belief in that, then what would be a need to make dua when I’ll already know that I can have this thing from LOA. And why didn’t Allah tell us about LOA, but instead HE told us to say dua. And wouldn’t it be a shirk when I’ll trust more on my mind powers , like I’ll be knowing that my mind is so powerful that I/it can do anything, I can have anything I want, ( as if I’m worshipping myself/my mind). If I’ll have this believe then what would be the need to kneel infront of Allah (I’m not saying I’ll do it, ofcourse Allah is our creator and no power is bigger than HIM, HE is the one) but see, here a person gets confused that what should you do, to believe in yourself or Allah. If I’ll believe that Allah has granted me this power then still I’ll be doubtful that maybe Allah will grant me what I’m asking for or not, while LOA says to have believe and act as if already something is yours Please I’ll be very thankful to you if you reply. I’m at that point of my life where I was few weeks back. Please reply

      1. As salaam alaikum brother,
I hope you are still with us. Self harming is not the answer and also haram. Make dua to Allah to give you strength to continue. It is also my belief that LOA is Haram which is what brings me to this site to learn more. The brother Ishan has written a beautiful and eloquent blog and May Allah reward him for trying to help us understand this. May Allah give us clear view of Al-Haaq and keep us from going astray. I hope the brother answers your question. Salam

    1. Thank you Shereen, may your work be blessed with divine guidance, support and success, and may you be a light to women throughout the world. To your success.

      1. Thank you brother, I really need this kind of personal growth in Islam. and find your wisdom. Thank!

  2. Jazak Allah Khair Ihsan, your articles always seem to come at just the right time. I am very grateful that you take time to write and share them and I pray that you continue to enlighten us with your well versed knowledge of Islam and other influential thinkers Insha’Allah.

    1. Alhamdulillah, all is but by the grace of Allah Almighty. May He empower us to serve our community with sincerity and love. Blessed regards.

  3. jazaakallah brother for wonderful explanation… in malaysia… we have a book entitled:” law of universal attractor” written by amin idris… it is a book on islamic aspect of LOA…

  4. JazakAllah Khair Brother, once again you have helped enlighten me and reminded me of where I need to be. May Allah Azzawajal’s blessings and light always be upon you.

  5. Salam, shaykh ihsan. May Allah bless you and your family for your efforts.

What do you think of progresive relaxation, hypnosis and releasing emotions as tools of transcending the ego? Are these practices okay for a Muslim to use in order to get worldly and mastery of self, or do we stick to traditional islamic practices?

    Thanks

    1. Many Salaams Muhammad,

Excellent questions, thanks for asking! Relaxation is essential in both transcending the ego as well as in effectively attracting to ourselves positive results. Tension is from resistance, non-surrender, which is the opposite of Islam, and when we are filled with internal tension, we are in effect blocking to ourselves the flow of abundance and grace from the Divine Presence, the Universe.

Our bodies let us know what our minds are thinking, and by becoming aware of your emotions, you can become aware of the thoughts that create such emotions. When making the thoughts conscious, you then have the opportunity to clarify and correct them, and so align them with truth.

Hypnosis is a general term, and in a sense, reciting the Qur’an is a form of positive hypnosis and auto-suggestion. For example, when we recite, “Say: Allah is One…”, we are effectively telling our minds to affirm the Oneness of God, Truth, and all corollaries that flow from that.

It’s absolutely vital for Muslims to use any and all tools available for progress, growth, development and healing, provided they are in alignment with Islam, just as one would use a modern method of treating a physical illness, provided it were in alignment with the principles of Islam.

For deeper immersion into the subject, and to learn how to make greater use of tools and technology currently available, explore the Islamic Meditation Program.

      http://www.IslamicMeditation.com

      To your success!

      1. Salaams. Your statement. “Tension is from resistance, non-surrender, which is the opposite of Islam, and when we are filled with internal tension, we are in effect blocking to ourselves the flow of abundance and grace from the Divine Presence, the Universe.”
Why are you talking about the Divine Presence, The Universe”?

  6. IHSAN BROTHER,
PLEASE EXPLAIN ABOUT 7 CHAKRAS PRESENTS IN THE BODY ROOT TO CROWN,& WHAT ISLAM SAYS ABOUT CHAKRAS,
CAN ISLAM ALLOW TO OPEN 7 CHAKRAS &
    WHAT IS KUNDALINI AWAKING &
WHAT IS ISLAM SAYS ABOUT KUNDALINI AWAKING SITUATED IN TAILBONE,
    CAN ISLAM ALLOW THIS,
    PLEASE REPLY,
    NASIR HUSEN

    1. Many salaams Nasir. A proper understanding of the human energetic system is compatible with Islam. I will aim to address this topic in more detail in a future article. Blessed regards.

  7. Thank you brother Ihsan. I am doing the meditation program, trying change the way I used think. Right now I going through a big problem related to work and business partnership. I truly don’t know what should be my next step. I left the whole thing in divine will, I believe I am supposed to get something it will come to me no matter what. But my spouse is making it different every minute I am home saying I am a loser and dumb, no meditation or faith will get me out unless I get myself out of this situation. But in my heart I feel I have no choice but to wait for Him and go with His will. For this I am stated as “coward and chicken”

    1. Many salaams Nasreen, one of the primary goals of Islam, and the Islamic Meditation Program, is to cultivate independence, sole reliance upon Allah Almighty such that nothing external can affect our state of being.

By being firmly rooted within, you become in-dependent, dependent inwardly and not outwardly, and become free from fear of criticism, rejection, displeasure, etc. This is a deeper experience of “la ilaha il Allah”, that “there is no god but Allah”, and that we as Muslims live purely to serve our Creator, not creation.

As long as our actions are based in goodness, love, compassion and mercy, we are not responsible for what others think or feel.

Everything that happens in life is designed to teach us — about ourselves. What we deal with is exactly what we need to deal with to grow, and much like Groundhog Day, we will continue to experience the same circumstances, even if in different manifestations, until we learn the lesson.

Hence, the Holy Prophet (saws) said, “One hour of contemplation is more valuable than seventy years of worship.”

In Week 2 of the Islamic Meditation Program, we discuss “Affirming Truth.”

      http://www.islamicmeditation.com/members/category/week-2

To develop true faith, iman, belief, and thus confidence, certainty, security and in-dependence, we must daily affirm truth, remind ourselves of what is true. This will strengthen neural conditions in alignment with Islam, with truth, and is part of the process of eliminating negative thought patterns, and the fear, anxiety and worry they create. This is “purification of the self” and jihad an-nafs.

      To your divine success!

    2. Too bad u have such a spouse. i can see a lot of negativity n negative energy from your spouse. may god bless you.otherwise, Yo spouse is somehow Ignorant n stupid, but she doesn’t know. too bad.many people think they think, but in actual sense they don’t think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. for this LOA looks like shirk.because they say that we are in control of our lives which totally wrong please someonewrite a better explanation

    1. Ros, that’s a really good point – you can forgive, without necessarily wanting to continue the relationship. I think Kelly comes close to that a few times in the story when Alekos keeps getting it wrong

  9. Wonderful article! I’ve been pondering on this issue for a very long time and the information you provided is very insightful and answers a lot of my wishes. Best wishes.

  10. Hello,

Thank you for posting to your website the Quran and the Law of Attraction. I noticed in the introduction your mention the Secret. Just as a note, the secret was stolen from Abraham/Hicks and ended up in a law suit. So really your post should read that the Law of Attraction belongs to Abraham/Hicks.
    Thank you for your time.

  13. Assalaam’u Alaykum wr wb..
Yes, plus a concept of Dua.. In Dua we throw our need to da universe and an answer equals to da belief is sent towards us..

    1. Indeed, Fatimah. And dua is answered best when there is faith, belief, and this is a result of our paradigm, a belief system that truly sees Allah Almighty as He SWT is, Loving, Kind, Merciful, Generous, Supportive, Protective, the Source of all goodness and grace, health, life, love and wellness. To your divine and eternal success.

  14. Aa wr wb..
Sure………! I think these concepts of attraction law & specific sufi attributes are naturally within a man.. these are not to b taught or explained.. Indeed a Blessing and a Gift from God.

  15. Well done brother Ihsan. I came across the law of attraction this week and immediately I saw it the first thing that came in my mind was “I Am to my servant how he expect Me to be.” I realized that the law of attraction is more closer to Islam and its teachings than Philosophy. I was very happy when I saw ur article. I would like to look at how the components of Tareeqatu Tijani which is Seeking forgiveness, sending blessings on the our prophet and saying La illa ha illa llah can assist in attaining a positive thoughts.

    1. Blessings and peace, Mubarik. Indeed, the Law of Attraction is fundamentally understood within Islamic teaching, and the Way is embracing personal responsibility, truly choosing peace, prosperity and Paradise, and seeking above all to align one’s will with that of the Divine. In this, purification through forgiveness, salawat upon our beloved Prophet ﷺ and the affirmation of truth through tahlil are invaluable. To your divine and blessed success.

  16. MashAllah this is right brother and i did so with grace of Allah i purify myself but when i think about evil it take place in heart so be positive and thinking and believe on God gives you every thing which you want whether evil or good path now my heart is pure and i feel no fear but fear of Allah. God bless you!

    1. Ameen, thank you Salman, and may Allah Almighty continually guide you towards true and eternal success, abundance, prosperity and happiness. Blessed regards.

  17. Alhamdullillah i came across your article and it shed light on what I’m reading in the present moment.. from 2009 i learnt abt the LOA and it helped me.. today i read ur article n it confirmed how it relates to Islam. Thank you. Moreover I’m reading The power of Now by E.Tolle .. and the basic if all this comes back to our Imaan! I wanted to know how all this connects to Islam n you made it simple to understand. . Jazak Allah khair

  18. Salam, and thank you for the beautifully written article. Would appreciate if a single font is used. I somewhat find it difficult to read the cursive fonts. Iam sorry about that, will copy and paste those words into my notepad to read it. Thank you. Jazakallah khair.

  19. Asalamu calaykum brother, thanks for writing this article which we needed very much. I found out the law of attraction this year 2016, after I made some research about law of attraction. When I heard the law of attraction I immediately feared for my faith, because I thought it is against the Sunnah and the Qur’an.

  20. OMG. The new Iphone 5 is specially made for Liverpool fans. They don’t have to scroll down to see where they are in the table. Matt Clark & BC. I hope u make an article (simple, short & simple) regarding League Cup CFC vs Wolves. Whats yours thought about it? i wish Oscar, Romeu, Moses, Sturridge, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Paizon, Mauloda & maybe ferairra play today.Reply

  21. Salam, it’s been very useful to me! Actually I’ve been searching for literature regarding law of attraction in Islam and your post is amazing. It helped me a lot with my concern whether Islam supports LoA or not….Thank you.

  22. I started doing the LOA and I knew it Definitly aligned with Islam. There are many quotes in the Holy Quran that confirm that Allah is for us. Life is not for suffering it for surrendering oneself to the creator Allah. He made this beautiful univers for the purposes to serve us humans and we are created to serve Allah. He wants the best for us for as long as we do the best for Allah’s sakes. Your artical cleared a lot of my doubts that I was having recently. Thank you ever so much for breaking it down in such a poise manner. May Allah grant all that you desire insha Allah.

  23. Islam is a false religion. I’m sorry to say, but this if factual.

Where elso does violence run rampant? Where are terrorist made? Where is the origin of female genital mutilation? And in my personal, first-hand experience with the muslims in my life: I have found them to have an inherently low vibrational rate. I can pick up that their (Islam’s) character contains, but is not limited to, an inherent mixture of arrogance and prejudice.

If you feel offended by my opinion, then you need to examine where you are in life and reconsider some things. That being said. There is ample evidence to support my statement.

My sincere and best wishes to you all believers of “Allah”

  24. I look forward to the muslim community recognising that we are all ONE – Where a human being stand out is from their character and their love for others. This is just my opinion, however the muslim community is so controlled by ‘fear’ of standing out and allowing their differences to shine that many communities are finding they are living at the frequency of the ego and there bodies are ill and life is about carrying the rituals they follow on their backs, rather than understanding the reasons behind the rituals and recognising if they cannot embrace everything that is happening can only happen with the will of the universe (god, allah) and it is our thoughts that are creating our outer worlds.

    1. Ameen, Nena, may the Ummah awaken to greater levels of awareness through the light and love of Allah Almighty, the One, the Absolute, the Eternal. To your divine and eternal success.

  25. Salam alaykum Sir! I have a question about attracting your future-spouse to yourself. According to Bob Proctor, it is possible that you can attract a wife/husband with prefered qualities (characteristics), if you just believe they are already in your life, all you have to do accept their presence and acting like you‘re already in each others life. With doing so, you‘re getting in the vibration of being with that type of person, so naturally you will attract them to yourself. Sounds logical to me, but made me ask following: Has that a relevance in Islam? Hasn‘t the Almighty already written down our spouses? or nevertheless, do we really have the opportunity to attract a specific person with a complete persuation that Allah will send them to us when the right time has come? Sometimes I think that this is possible, because if you are persuaded that Allah will accept your prayers and that he can create every circumstance by just saying „be“, it can be created. So far I‘m very optimistic, but I‘m really looking forward to know about your opinion about this topic!

    1. Blessed salaams sister Aisha. Yes, this is from the belief in the greatness, generosity and boundless abundance that flows from the Divine Presence of Allah Almighty. Be clear as to what you seek in life, choose based upon the best you are capable of and aware of, continually ask for greater knowledge of that which leads to His divine and eternal pleasure, and always be in a state of love and surrender to your Lord. For more detailed information, please join us in the Mastering the Law of Attraction course.

  26. Jazak Allah. I knew there was a link between this law and Islam. I read that book (the secret) about 5 years ago, but at that time I was not aware of Islam. Now as a Muslim it’s really clear to understand what this law actually means, and how it’s related to Islam.

    1. Indeed, the parallels are many and the knowledge is essential. Please consider joining us in the Awakenings Program which includes the course, Mastering the Law of Attraction. To your divine and eternal success.

  27. The Universe ist the mirror of our own Consciousness. The quality of our consciousness defines the world we live in. As it is declared in the Qur’an, the Creator does not change the condition of a people unless they change themselves within (Ra’d 13:11). It is impossible to change the world, but it is always possible to change the quality of our consciousness. Change yourself and the world will follow.

This is the beauty and the power of the Divine Law. Begin to live in harmony with the Law, the Force, the Divine Presence and you will attract the bounty and providence of the Universe.

    1. Ameen, and beautifully said. May your journey be blessed and may you be accompanied by the sincere and the true. Fi Amanullah.

  28. Dear Ihsan,

When one reads what you have written, it feels like something very divine and pure held your pen as you formulated and articulated your thoughts into words. It could be anything at all, maybe your own experiences or divine consciousness that reflects this information. But please be assured that your words have been an inspiration to readers like me and I hope and pray you bring more of this knowledge and consciousness into our lives with the will of the almighty Allah swt. Would love to hear you speak in person someday insha allah.

    Dr. Zafar from Germany.

  29. Brilliantly explained. This was the need of the hour! We have Islam in our blood and our faith testifies to its veracity. However, the Law of Attraction is very appealing and rational too. Your article serves to synthesize both Islamic Principles as well as the Law of Attraction.
Thus, we can expect no more Fatwas from Fanatics implying that Law of Attraction is “Haram”. We can also not expect “Secular/Liberal” lot to consider Islam an orthodox faith. That’s what is lovely about such topics. By attempting to find similarities and harmony between Islam and fields like Metaphysics, Philosophy and General Science, everything begins to make sense. Thank you!!

  30. Masha Allah. Excellently written. It has helped me a lot in building a positive attitude in life. Thank you very much.

  31. Brother Ihsan, thank you so much for making the IMP! It’s wonderful! I was looking for an Islamic viewpoint on LOA!

If you are ever in Vancouver, Canada.. my wife and I would love chat with you! I’m a new revert (less than a year) and still face some challenges coming from a different perspective.

  32. Salaams,

Thank you so much for this article, Ihsan. It came at a perfect time for me and as a reminder that state that Allah wishes for us is joy and abundance. Such simple, yet oftentimes difficult concepts like being present and giving gratitude are at the core of this, as you state.

I am so grateful for your work, and pray for blessings upon all that you do.

    Samantha

    1. You are most welcome, Samantha. May the light of God’s Divine Presence be with you and your loved ones always, and guide you to health, wellness, happiness and success in both this life and the next. To your divine and eternal success.

  33. Salaam Brother,

Please change the font. It is very difficult to read. The writing is to thin. Thanks.

    Sincerely,

    Nur

  34. THE UNIVERSAL PERSPECTIVE

Satan was created from fire and Angels from light. There’s no light without a fire. So logically speaking Ibliss was created first and Gabriel second. They are the first created diverse spiritual beings. Satan being the embodiment of both Truth and Falsehood has the freedom of the wild ass and ‘poor’ Gabriel being the embodiment of Truth alone, is a prisoner with no freedom or freewill, destined to a life of service (Ibadha) till the end of time. Simply put, Gabriel is nothing but a vegetable. Satan being knowledgeable and knowledge being power, has a superiority complex. Since Gabriel was subservient to Satan and had no axes to grind, life in the heavens was harmonious.

After a lengthy period, the Creator, due to a loftier reason (which cannot be divulged at this time) than Service/Ibadha, decided to create the material being Adam who will represent both Truth and Falsehood from clay, much to the objections of the Angels. The Creator vetoed their objections and created Adam (the material counterpart of Satan) and commanded the spiritual beings to bow down in submission to him. All the Angels bowed (submitted) except Ibliss due to his superiority complex. This disobedience caused his condemnation till the end of time. Reprieve to punish disobedience and the power to misguide Adam was granted to him. Satan vowed to take with him to hell as many beings as possible, both material and spiritual. Ever since, the proxy war between the Creator and the created continues.

Ibliss’ failure to bow/submit to his material counterpart Adam, caused the Creator to create Eve (the material counterpart of Gabriel). Thus was born the first material diversity – the man and woman or the man and the other or the self and the other or the I and the You. The I represents Adam/Satan and the You represents Eve/Gabriel. ‘Poor’ Eve got seduced by Satan and got herself and hubby thrown out of the heavens and landed in the hell-hole we now call Earth.

The proxy war between Secularism (Satan/Adam/I) and Spiritualism (Gabriel/Eve/You) goes on and Satan seems to be winning because the embodiment of Satan has occupied the White House. Peace between Satan and Gabriel is an absolute necessity for us to live till the end of time. All those who believe in Peace and have no issues in submitting to Peace are the true soldiers of the Party of Gabriel (Muslims or not). Refusal to bow/serve the other and be at Peace with them belongs to the Party of Satan (Muslims or not).

It doesn’t really matter if you are an evolutionist or a creationist. What matters most is peace on earth. All those who believe that its best Satan didn’t bow to Adam are likely to be men like me. I don’t like to be commanded by anybody, not even by God Almighty, to bow down to my darling wife. I like to do it voluntarily, which I do. My voluntary submission (bow) to my wife/others means I have succeeded in forcing Satan to bow to Adam symbolically, which was the Creator’s Original Command. The ‘I’ is the symbolical representation of Satan, and if I bow/serve others humbly, this means that I am forcing Satan to bow Adam, in principle. My every unselfish act is a direct command to Satan to do the prostration. God couldn’t make Satan serve Adam physically. We the sons of Adam have the potential to force Satan to serve Adam’s progeny spiritually. The spiritual principle matters. Let us live a principled live and force the ferocious foe to bow down and serve us, for which he was created. Falsehood was created to serve Truth and was told to bow to Truth but Falsehood refused. It is up to us to force the falsehood in us to serve the truth in others. Fire is a good servant but a bad master. Falsehood is a good servant but a bad master. The falsehood in us is governing us and the world. Come let’s make the falsehood in us to serve us. We should stop it ruling us. We Muslims are the representatives of Truth and should rule falsehood. Unless and until we extinguish the fires of falsehood and bring it under our control, there can be no peace in this world. Do we want to leave behind us a world consumed with greed and hatred for our grandchildren to endure?

Be true to your own self and be the other. Don’t become the other. Be your wife; don’t become your wife. Be a man; don’t become a woman. Love, respect and serve your wives but don’t integrate with them. Truth should not integrate with Falsehood and Falsehood should not integrate with Truth. Both Truth and Falsehood are same but not equal. If one integrates with the other, both will die.

Be God but don’t become God. Love, respect and serve God but don’t integrate with God. If you do, you will die. Worshipping is integrating. Please do not worship God. SERVE HIM. Our Ulema would want us to believe Ibadha is worship which is a Wahhabi interpretation, meant to keep us subdued and prevent us from rising up to question our rulers. Even Ijtihad (critical thinking and independent judgment) was banned from Islam for the purpose of protecting the Arab monarchies. Ijtihad is absolutely essential for critical and creative thinking and independent investigation to research as to why the Muslim community is so backwards. During the Golden Ages of Islam Muslims founded and pioneered in all the sciences due to their independent reasoning. The exercise of Ijtihad was an important way to address questions in the early centuries of Islam. After approximately 400 years, however, the Ulema of the Sunni Muslim world closed the “Gates of Ijtihad;” Muslims were no longer allowed to use ijtihad to solve their problems. If a seemingly new problem arose, they were supposed to find an analogy from earlier scholars and apply that ruling to the problem that arose. From the 10th century onwards, Sunni Muslim leaders began to see questioning as politically dangerous to their ability to rule. Regrettably, Sunni Muslim Ulema reject the use of ijtihad to this day. As questioning could very likely upset the established order and bring down the monarchies, autocracies and despotic regimes which rule most of the Muslim world, even Muslims who live in freer Muslim countries such as Turkey often hesitate to exercise ijtihad. How did the Muslim world succumb to this situation and is there a way out? Yes. Unless we lay Muslims get out of the box the Ulema has created for us and do some out-of-the-box thinking, it will not be possible to reunite with our Creator.

There is no worship in Islam except service. If you worship God, you will have an inferiority complex towards Him. The entire Muslim world suffers from an inferiority complex due to their misconception of the word Ibadha. Compared to the West, we Muslims are an inferior lot and are subjugated like slaves by them. That’s because we have become slaves to our desires. Don’t feel inferior to God. Both God and man are same but not equal. Be His friend. If you have any fear or an inferior feeling in your heart, you never can be His true friend because love and fear never mixes. “Oh, surely the friends of Allah will have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve” – Holy Quran (10:62). Please do not fear Him; just love the hell out of Him.

Love, respect and serve Satan and the non-Muslims. Don’t you Muslims EVER imitate or integrate with them. Integration is worship. If we worship the other both will die. Be the other; don’t become the other. Please DO NOT INTEGRATE with each other because each of us are divinely unique creations and have distinct differences. Integration nullifies this beautiful difference. Diversity is beautiful. It keeps us alive. Love all and hate none. We can make this hell-hole heaven on earth.

We are Muslims who belong to the Party of Gabriel. We are the pioneers of peace and have a religious duty to stand up to arrest this raging fire in us and the world. If we do not take a resolute resolution now to revolutionize our way of thinking and remodel our way of life and recreate a new world order soon, the demise of humanity would be a very near terrifying inevitability. Don’t you think we have a divine obligation to put a stop to this nonsensical farce?

Are there anybody out there to fulfill the Creator’s Original Command symbolically? Please make haste. Planet Earth is on fire, gasping for cleaner air due to our arrogance and greed.

  41. As salamu alaikum its strange to me to hear brothers speak on these science’s.Where are the lectures on the reality’s of this new age the last 23yrs?Surely the elite called the elect are 40 in number not including their IMAM.The first teacher ISA as of the elite from the unseen says in the books of the prophets.”Can the children of the bridechamber mourn,as long as the bridegroom is with them?but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.”The sun will raise in the west, farthest west first! Then the east?
The reality’s these unknown individuals are experiencing are uncontrollable teeth gnashing, ring’s in left and right ears, deep plugs in both ears so deep it seems like time stop?Flashes of nur,Deep heart beats, chest beats, shoulder blades beats arm beats, ER conditions. No earthly murshid can help them they have no teachers they are not in a tariqa. The school of thought they are from is called ALLAH OWN.

  42. Thank you so much for this post.I hope you can write more articles about Islam. We need more people like you to guide our ummah.May Allah grant you a long and happy life.Ameen.

  43. Alhamdulilah for this article, I’m worried for myself and my deen on this topic. Reading this clear some of my doubts, I will surely keep on researching till the imams can talk about it at the alter. Law of attraction is working for me, I believe in it. My soul is alright with me. Jazakallahu akhrain.

  44. salam aleikoum oua rahmatullahi, barak Allahu feek dear brother for this most important clarification and explanation of the relation between Islam and the Law of Attraction. You’ve put it very beautifully and practical. bless you and may Allah bless us all in the practice of this law regarding the actual happenings in the world = focus beyond the so called “realities, truth, facts” imagining a better and healthy world, inchaallah.

  45. I AM the infinite abundance of Divine Love 🙂 When you begin to think like God thinks, you will live in a state of paradise, wholeness and happiness and abundance. Your heart is a magnet und you will magnetically attract a divine life. One of my favorite mantras is: All shall be well and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well…

  46. Dear Brother Ihsan
I have been using your Islamic mediations for several years now and I find it very beneficial Masha Allah.
With regard to the LOA I found your article very useful. How does it tally with the predestination? Other coaches etc say we are in complete control of our destiny…which obviously is not true. If something does not go as we want it we know it is Allahs plan.

    Thank you.
